The Open Heart Foundation’s desire to extend services to communities seldom reached by other non-government organizations, once again brought them to the municipality of Lavezares, Northern Samar and conducted a medical mission. It has become a practice already of the Foundation to conduct medical or dental mission in provincial areas. This form of service and means of celebration started four years.
So, on August 6, 2016, the Foundation’s staff, volunteers, and a member of the Board of Trustees traveled to Lavezares, Northern Samar to celebrate the Foundation’s anniversary and commemorate the death anniversary of the Founder, Robert LeGore. The theme of this activity is: “Proteksyon sa Kalusugan,Landas sa Magandang Kinabukasan”.
To complete the merriment, 140 ECCD children were identified by the Municipal Social Welfare Office from their ECCD centers to participate in games and receive loot bags from the Foundation. Winners received their prizes and nobody went home empty handed. Children and their parents as well enjoyed the fun.
The objective of the mission was realized and the celebration was successful. This was due to the strong partnership between the Foundation and the MSWDO headed by Ms. Mesalina Dulfo. The participation and motivation to all OHF Staff. The vigor and enthusiasm and of the Executive Director provided direction for this activity. It was another milestone etched in the history of the Open Heart Foundation.
