Children’s Power: Children Talk to Children Project Team Meeting

Two beneficiaries from Quezon City namely, Joshua Dacuyan and Queye Kim Zaragoza, participated in Children Talk to Children (C2C) Project Team Meeting held in Cocoon Boutique Hotel last May 28, 2017 to May 31, 2017.

The C2C is about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UN CRC) Project, a joint initiative of child-led organizations which aim to strengthen the meaningful participation of greater number of children in CRC monitoring and campaign.

The topics tackled during the meeting were Universal Periodic Review briefing, Positive Discipline Bill, and Martial Law. Consulted with the children are the recommendations of different countries affecting the issues of children, given in the Universal Periodic Review session of the Philippines. There are also children representative who were sent in the Senate briefing regarding Positive Discipline Bill to share their CRC monitoring data in corporal punishment. The participants were also educated about how the martial law is being passed, evaluated its negative and positive impacts.

The two beneficiaries shared their thoughts and opinions during the meeting which is very important, giving them the chance to share their own data in CRC monitoring and campaign.
